Methoni retains a traditional architecture and beautiful beaches that combine the green with the blue. Methoni is also known for its castle which is surrounded by a moat that protected it and made it seem like an island. The castle is protected by a small octagonal fortress named “Bourtzi” which is full of loopholes. Besides its historical significance, you should definitely pay a visit for a quick swim and a walk.
